Social Fabric

Community group exhibition at the Yellowknife Visitors Centre Gallery, Yellowknife, NWT, November 2023 - March 2024.

The 3rd iteration of Social Fabric, a juried community group exhibition of fibre based works curated by Sarah Swan.

“Laura Hodgins frequently renders Yellowknife in the punch needle medium - not the tourist views but the off-kilter vignettes and idiosyncrasies that keep this place interesting. Low subject matter in a low art form. There’s no pride of place in her work per se, but a certain kind of fondness for half-sunk houseboats & jerry cans, for signs that remain long after a business closes.” - Sarah Swan, curator of Social Fabric in reference to Hodgins’ works shown in the exhibition
